Value differs from context to context. There are tangible and intangible things, we care a lot about, you care a lot about. Why you care can have multiple reasons. You might be emotionally attached, you value the performance or/and the novelty. The value might also derive from a special condition, might enhance your reputation or just gives you pure joy in learning something new.
No matter the context the word value is used, value is something we all care about. Value is something we want to achieve. Once value has been created, it is something we want to retain.
